Looking to paint your own boat but not sure where to start? Our DIY painting under tuition service offers the perfect balance of hands-on experience and professional guidance.

You bring your boat to our covered dock at Knighton Wharf, and we provide:

A fully equipped painting facility

Belgian waffles topped with fresh banana slices, caramel sauce and powdered sugar.

High-quality marine paints and materials

A stack of four fluffy pancakes filled with blueberries, topped with warm blueberry compote and whipped cream.

Expert one-to-one tuition and technical advice

Choice of Pork-Lime Sausage or Chicken-Curry Sausage or Turkey Sausage.

Guidance on surface preparation, paint systems, & finishing techniques

You can rent the dock for the duration of your project, work at your own pace, and request tuition or oversight as and when needed.

This unique setup gives you the chance to learn traditional narrowboat painting techniques, gain insider tips and tricks, and achieve a professional-quality finish at around half the cost of a full repaint.
